Headteacher Welcome

Lotus Academy is a specialist provision for children and young people aged 5–16 with a primary need of SEMH.
The majority of our pupils have a diagnosis of  Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) alongside other needs. Pupils typically work at or around age-related expectations and are supported to achieve ambitious outcomes within a structured, inclusive, and highly supportive learning environment.

We are driven by high expectations and a commitment to improving life chances. Our curriculum is broad, balanced, and carefully designed to meet individual needs while enabling pupils to build secure knowledge, develop key skills, and make strong progress over time. Specialist teaching, evidence-informed practice, and a strong focus on communication underpin all aspects of learning.

We place equal importance on pupils’ personal development, wellbeing, and readiness for the next stage of their education. Through consistent routines, high-quality pastoral care, and a culture of respect, pupils develop confidence, resilience, independence, and positive relationships. Behaviour and attitudes are supported proactively, ensuring that pupils feel safe, understood, and ready to learn.

It is our role to work with the students and their families and help them on a journey to fulfil their full potential as young adults. Our staff team are extremely dedicated and hard-working, and we all feel privileged to be part of your child's journey. We hope that our work together impacts not only their chance of success in school, but that you also feel that their progress in school has a positive impact on your family life.

Lotus Academy is a calm, purposeful community where pupils thrive academically, socially, and emotionally, and where every child is supported to achieve their full potential.

Please contact the school if you would like to visit or require any further information.
